Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) is the primary information technology service provider of the Yukon Department of Education. ITSS provides and promotes information technology services that support the mission of Yukon schools and the Yukon Department of Education.
ITSS supports and maintains a Yukon wide, fully operational computing and networking environment that facilitates the Yukon schools and administration's access to instructional tools, academic resources, and administrative systems.
ITSS supports and maintains the department's hardware, software, and network infrastructure; 2,000 desktop computers, 350 printers, 35 network server, and a Yukon wide private IP network connecting 30 sites to the Internet. ITSS supports two OS platforms, Macintosh and Windows on two different domains - YNeT and YESnet.
- Provide and support a fully operational, client oriented computing and networking environment that facilitate the school community's access to instructional tools, academic resources, and administrative tools.
- Provide and support a high-speed Yukon wide network linking students, faculty, and staff with each other and with the worldwide community.
- Provide and support appropriate hardware and software, and provide an adequate knowledge base to use that software and hardware effectively.
- Provide IT support services to meet the diverse needs of the department of Education in fulfillment of its mission.
