Habitat

The Tarantula spider can be found in Asia, Africa, South America, North America, and Australia. They can also be found under rocks, trees, wood piles and underground and burrows. This spider lines it’s burrow with silk.


Physical Description

Tarantulas are a gentle creature. This spider has a long, large hairy body. The Tarantula is the size of a man’s hand. It has two body parts and has two eyes. They can see very well. They have 8 legs and they have long legs too. Tarantulas have strong legs. They will bite and their bite is painful. They even live for 20 years.


The Young

They put their babies on their mom’s back. Tarantulas’ babies are called spiderlings.


Food

The Tarantula eats beetles, bees, butterflies, small birds, flies, frogs, grasshoppers, ladybugs, mice, mites and other Tarantulas. They also eat scorpions.


Enemies

Their enemies are scorpions, wasps and other spiders.
