The Black Widow spider lives in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Southern Saskatchewan and Southern United States and the tropics.

Physical Description


The Black Widow spider is shy. They have eight eyes. The male is smaller than the female.

The Young

The female lays eggs. All babies hatch from eggs.


Food

The Black Widow eats ants, bees, bugs, flies, grasshoppers and other spiders. Male Black Widow spiders are smaller than the females.


Enemies

Some of the Black Widow’s enemies are wasps, other spiders and people.
