Habitat

The Trapdoor spider can be found in warm parts such as North America, California, South, America, Australia, South East, Asia, Japan and Europe. It likes hot zones like Africa. This spider lives underground in a burrow with a tight fitting door is liner with silk.



Physical Description


The Trapdoor spider is heavy and they are brown in color. It has 2 body parts. This spider is 9 cm long. They have 4 eyes and 8 legs. This spider has fangs. It lives for 1-2 years.


The Young

The females lay eggs in a burrow. The babies are called spiderlings.


Food

This spider eats insects, mice, birds, ants, beetles and frogs. They even like fish, lizards and grasshoppers.


Enemies

This spider’s enemies are scorpions, wasps, people and other spiders.
