Welcome to the Eliza Van Bibber School Website for the 2014-2015 school year. We have undergone a lot of positive changes within our programming at EVB this year. Our changes include a new high school schedule, grade 9 transition year, technology integration, revised student support systems, a school wide reading block, and initiation of self-regulation supports.

EVBS offers a comprehensive K-12 program, with an overall student enrolment of 70. We also offer a Learning Together program for two and a half hours, in the morning. We have a staff of 20 with the inclusion of 3 valued staff members employed by Selkirk First Nation, within the school.

As a school we are focused on the development of the whole student for each of our students. Moreover, this year we have all geared our academic focus towards Non-Fiction writing skills. We will be doing school wide monthly assessments to direct our teaching and learning. It is a journey that we are all excited to be on. This will also allow us to bring in more of our Northern Tutchone knowledge, teachings, and culture into our classrooms.

We view ourselves as a strong and healthy school community and we attribute this to four main factors: a caring and committed staff, a very supportive Chief and Council, an interested and involved parent community, and an outstanding student population.

We are all partners in providing quality education for our children. We understand that learning together and from one another builds healthy relationships and a strong sense of community. Our focus has always been and continues to be on building a warm, caring and supportive school climate where each of our students can maximize his/her potential and feel valued, respected and appreciated.
