Some geographical facts about the city of Whitehorse include:
- It is situated in the Yukon River Valley.

Whitehorse is so far north that during the summer the sun hardly
sets. During the winter, however, the sun comes up and goes down very
quickly. This is due to the way that the earth rotates. In the month
of January the temperatures can be as low as -21C to -25C degrees, or
colder. In the month of July it is 14C to 20C degrees, sometimes
hotter.
