Haida Legend The ColorfulÝ Eagle Written and Illustrated by Cory, Grade 4 IT Ý Ý Ý ÝÝÝÝ There was a nice eagle in the woods. He saw lots of cougars, owls and a person walking by the river. He swooped down to the ground and started to hiss at the person. The man started to run for home, but the eagle got in front of him and hissed like a snake at him. The man was not scared. He stopped and just sat there looking at him. Then he started to walk near. The man started to pet the eagle with his hand. The man liked the eagle and took the eagle home to play with. He went outside to play, but the eagle started to hiss at him. He did not know what was wrong with the eagle. Then the eagle flew away. Then one day the eagle came to him. The eagle had a broken leg. The man fixed the eagle's leg. He started to color some baskets. He spilled some color on the eagle and that's how the eagle got so colorful.
