ÝÝÝÝ Once, when raven was white he would go out of his home at night and fly as high as he could in the midnight sky.
ÝÝÝ One night when raven was flying he didn't notice how high he was until he was lost. Raven flew and flew and just got more lost. People thought raven died because he was gone so long. One day raven thought he saw earth, so he flew down and saw that he was right because he saw green trees. When raven landed, people didnít know who he was.
ÝÝÝÝÝÝ Raven saw his old friend rabbit, so he walked over to say hello.
Rabbit said, ì Who are you?î
ÝÝÝÝ Raven wondered, ìWhy doesn't he remember me?î
ÝÝÝÝ Raven said, ìI am raven .î
ÝÝÝ ìNo, you aren't raven, raven is white.î
ÝÝÝ ì I am white!î said raven.
ÝÝÝ ìLook in the stream,î said rabbit, ì You are black as the midnight sky.î
ÝÝ ì So I am.î said raven, when he looked into the stream. ìI am as black as the midnight sky.î
ÝÝÝ ìSee? I told you.î said rabbit.
ÝÝÝ ìI know now I must have stayed in the night sky so long that I must of turned the sky's colour, black.î
ÝÝÝ ìYes, that must be it!î said rabbit.
ÝÝÝ That is how raven came to be black. Ý Ý Ý Ý
