İİİİ One day the Haida started to starve. They asked every
animal except the fox, ìHow do we hunt to get food, we are starving?î
İİİ They had had to go looking for fox to ask the question,
but he was hunting.
İİİİ When they found him he said, ìWhat do you want?î
İİİİ They said, ìWe need your help. Our village is starving.
Can you teach us how to hunt?î
İİİ The fox said, ìOkay ,but I need something in return.î
İİİ They said, ìAnything you want is yoursî.î
İİİ The fox taught them everything he knew.
İİİİ After a few days they stopped starving because they
had become hunters like the fox.
İİİİİ The fox asked them to respect him forever and if
they didn't he would put a curse on them. They did as they were asked and
never stopped respecting the fox.
