Hello from Wisconsin,
Our school name is West Salem Middle School. When looking at a map you will find us in the south western part of the state. We are about ten miles away from the Mississippi River and our town is on the La Crosse River. There is a lake formed by a dam called Lake Neshonoc right near West Salem. There is about 4000 people in West Salem, but many more in our school district that live in the country.
We are 12 and 13 year old seventh graders and will be participating in the wolf web project through our science teachers class. He is Mr. Zwonitzer and is pretty cool. In the winter he tracks wolves with his friend and gives the information they find to the DNR. As a class we adopt a wolf pack as a class project. There are five classes of seventh graders and we are taking turns monitoring this project.
Our Easter break is short. We have off the Friday before and the Monday after Easter.

YT There have been no major problems with wolves in the last ten years in Whitehorse other than some small things like a few dogs being killed and the odd horse. This happens very rarely so when it does happen there is usually a big reaction by the media and people.
TX No
CA Unfortunately not anymore
YT The Yukon is a very small area, though we have many mountains, trees, rivers and wildlife. There were thousands and thousands of wolves in North America until hunters started trapping wolves for there hide. The population then sunk drastically in most parts of the North American region. Wolves where put on the endangered list around north America. The population in the Yukon didn't sink drastically. It actually was overpopulating the Yukon. People thought that the wolves where killing too many of our caribou. So the Yukon started the wolf kill program. People where shooting wolves out of helicopters around the Yukon. The Yukon has stopped the wolf kill program, instead other states and provinces are taking some wolves and are reintroducing them into new places or parks to regain the amount of wolves that North America once had. The Yukon has many, many wolves in the Yukon. In all there is about 4,000 wolves living in the Yukon. And hopefully someday all of North America will be repopulated.
CA None anymore
YT Moose, woodland caribou and sheep.
TX When wolves lived here in Texas, their main source of food was deer.
CA We have an amazing biodiversity in Southern California and at one time there must have been lots of food for them.
