Tantalus School 2009-2010

Dear Tantalus School-Community,

My name is Marc Legault and I am honored to be the Principal of Tantalus School for the remainder of the year.  The mountains, valleys, vegetation, and wildlife are truly amazing to experience.  I can only hope to explore as much of the land as possible in these upcoming months.

I am from Coldwater, Ontario which is approximately thirty minutes north of the City of Barrie, Ontario.  My most recent placement was at Foley Catholic School in the village of Brechin, Ontario.  This is a small rural school somewhat like Tantalus.  I have taught at several urban and rural schools in my last seventeen years as an educator but prefer small rural community schools.

My top reason for desiring the Principal position at Tantalus School is to experience the rich cultural heritage of this school.  I look forward to learning and engaging with students from Carmacks and members from the Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation.

From the August 31, 2009 newsletter written by the former Principal Mr. Ernie Van Soest, I understand that our school goal for 2009-2010 school year is to provide educational opportunities to all students and encourage Parents, Guardians, and the community to work with staff members.  I will endeavor to fulfill this goal.
