Congratulations to the EWES students as they have been awarded 1st, 2nd & 4th Prize for the Northern Region of Canada (Yukon, NWT, & Nunavut) as well as Ecole Whitehorse Elementary has been chosen for National recognition as one of only three schools across Canada to be awarded a $1000 for the quality of entries & level of participation.

The student-initiated campaign followed the bullying of a Grade 9 boy who was new to Central Kings Rural High in Nova Scotia who wore a pink shirt on opening day in September. In response, a group of Grade 12 students came to his defence, then rallied hundreds of others to wear pink the next day as a show of support and to make a visible statement against bullying.
