| Introduction You are great bear hunters. You are going to hunt for information about bears in the wild. As Yogi Bear says, "You need to be smarter than the average bear" in order to complete your task on the bear hunt. Happy bear hunting! | |||||||||||||

The Task Your task will be to find out some facts about real bears. What are the different kinds of bears? What do bears look like? What do bears eat? Do all bears live in the same places? Is there anything special about the different kinds of bears? |

The Process You know that bears are mammals. Mammals are animals that have fur or hair, are warm blooded and take care of their young. Some mammals are plant eaters (herbivores) and some are meat eaters (carnivores). Some mammals eat plants and meat (Omonivores) while a few mammals eat insects (insectivores). 1. Look through the Bear Picture Pages. 2. There are 8 different species of bears. Choose one bear to research. 3. You will need a copy of the Bear Information Sheet to make notes on. 4. Go to the Bear Links page to find lots of imformation about the bear you chose. 5. As you explore the sites, you should write down the facts about your bear such as size, home, colour, food and interesting facts. 6. Go to the Kidspiration Bear template and type the facts about your bear. Save as bear.your intials to your folder on the server. When it has been checked by the teacher you may drag it to the Drop Box. 6. Draw a picture of your bear using Kid PIX drawing tools. Save to your folder on the server as pict.your initials. 7. Share your information with others. 8. Once the teacher has checked all your work you may go to the Bear Fun Page. |
