Student
Handout
- 1.
Choose a country with your partner from the list
posted in the computer lab. You and your travel buddy will design
a multimedia presentation on that country to show to your classmates.
-
- You
are expected to come to class by with a draft of
your information ready to start working on the
Hyperstudio presentation. Start early
looking for information so that you can come to
class ready to begin the really creative part of
this assignment!
-
- 2.
Your draft research should include at least one full typed page
of information on the country and the template
has cards for the following:
- country
map indicating the capital city
- an
image of the country's flag (look in the
AppleWorks library, Hyperstudio or the country
link pages)
- land
area (in square kilometres)
- population
- resources
& economy (what things are produced in the
country to make money)
- language
or languages spoken (try to find some examples
of words in that language and their meanings in
English)
- religion
(what are some of the main religions of the
country)
- culture
(a couple of paragraphs describing what makes
the people of this country different from people
in other countries)
- food
(examples of food that are special to that
country if different from what we
eat)
- weather
(average temperature in January, average
temperature in July in Celsius)
- images
of the country (find examples of images showing
their culture or landmarks)
- a
credit page which has an image of yourselves
labeled with your names and the resources you
used for information & pictures
-
- Try
to find several images of your country & its
people as that will really add to your
presentation. If you download them from the
internet save them in jpeg format. Once you have
your draft research ready it can be stored in the
Computer lab so you are ready to build your
multimedia report with Hyperstudio.
-
- 3.
You will create a Hyperstudio presentation which has at least
15 cards. You may use the Country
Research template or
begin from scratch. In either case, you are expected to be creative
and add changes such as backgrounds, buttons, images, transitions
between cards and sound.
