okapi? There are so many fascinating
animals in tropical rainforests that
millions haven't been named or even
identified yet. In fact, about half of all
the world's species live in tropical
rainforests.

- You
will create a multimedia presentation
using an AppleWorks
SlideShow
template
to show all the things you have
learned about your Rainforest
animal.

Process
- Choose
an animal from the Rainforest
Sign
Up
posted in the computer lab. Try to choose
a really unusual animal that you would
like to know more about and would be
interesting to others. If you are not sure
what an animal looks like view the
pictures I have gathered on
Rainforest
Animals
page.

- Write a
draft of the information you have found
following the assignment
sheet
handed out in class. Bring this to the
lab to begin entering the information on
the Rainforest
Animal Slideshow.

- Take a
look at the Rainforest
Animals
page for pictures.
- Some
ideas of information to gather:
(Remember
to check your spelling, punctuation and
use complete sentences)
- Description:
What
the animal looks like, size (metric),
colours, body covering, special body
parts. Describe the animal in detail as if
someone has never seen one.
- Habitat:
Range
or location of animal
- Where
the animal lives
- Diet
What the animal
eats
- Family
Life: Offspring (if special name for
babies), number of babies born at a time,
when born in the year, care of
young
- Social
Behavior:how the animal lives: in
groups, alone, etc.

that is really unique about your animal)

Evaluation
- Each
student is expected to complete a
slideshow presentation of their animal
including title page, digital pictures of
the animal and your photo, several slides
of research and a picture done in a
drawing program. You are asked to use the
Slideshow template provided however it is
expected that you modify this to make it
individual by changing background,
formatting text, fading and other
transitions between slides etc. All
slideshow will be combined at the end of
our unit.
