Wednesday, October 7th is the National Family Celebration Week Dinner & first WCP Recreational Evening at WES. This event is co-sponsored by Many Rivers Counseling and Support Service & the Whole Child Program, with financial support from Partner for Children. The special evening of family fun runs from 5:30 - 8:00PM and offers a delicious dinner, an evening of special family events and entertainment, and incredible door prizes provided by a large number of local businesses...and the best part...IT IS ALL FREE!

Last year close to 340 people joined us for an incredible lasagna dinner and salad. Thanks to our co-sponsors, all the families that joined us for the celebration. A special thank you to EWES volunteers including Joanne Stanhope, Carolyn Stanhope, Lucille, Barbara, and Crystal for their help in making this event a huge success! WCP Board members Pat Berrel, and Jan Slipetz were on hand to ensure everything was ready & went well. THANK YOU!

We presented the WCP at the New Brunswick Teachers' Association Conference on "Inclusion" in Fredericton, N.B. in December 2006 thanks to the support from the Canadian Association of Community Living. The RCMP's National Youth Strategy sponsored Cpl. Grant MacDonald & Crystal Pearl-Hodgins to present the WCP at the Canadian Chiefs of Police conference in Winnipeg, March 2007 and we were interviewed for CTV and CBC's Radio-Canada.
Barbara Curtis & Crystal Pearl-Hodgins also provided a workshop on the WCP at the National Inner-City Schools Conference by the Toronto School Board & Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, Toronto, April 2007. We also presented the WCP at the National Health Symposium here in Whitehorse, September 24-25/2008.
